The Oregon Food Bank needs you!

Amazons! We have information for one of our first Community Outreach opportunities for the year. Thanks to Lisa Lovullo’s connections, we have been given the chance to help out the annual Letter Carriers Food Drive, benefiting the Oregon Food Bank. The day will be Saturday May 13, at the Evergreen Post Office.  3685 NW Aloclek Pl, Hillsboro OR 97124

There are two positions for which we need help:

Most needed -  Adopt-a-Route Drivers.  Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to drive around the area that the Evergreen Post Office serves, and pick up food donations.  They then take these donations back to the post office where Post Office volunteers help unload their vehicles. Maps are provided by the Post Office staff.  To make the shift more fun and efficient, drivers will want to recruit friends and/or family to drive with them! That way the driver can stay in the car instead of stopping and parking at each house.  This is a tremendous help to the Letter Carriers, and helps get the food back to the Post Office more quickly.

Shift hours:  12:30pm to 3:30pm

# of drivers needed:  20 (not including their passengers)

Minimum age for drivers is 18.  Minimum age for passengers is 12

Post Office Volunteers help at the post office as letter carriers and volunteer drivers bring in food donations collected from throughout the neighborhood! They help unload the vehicles and help box it up for shipment to Oregon Food Bank.

Shift hours:  1:30pm to 5:30pm

# of volunteers needed at the Post Office: 12

Minimum age for volunteers to work at the Post Office is 14
